PÜR Fitness & Health is looking for personal trainers and fitness instructors! We are a Premier Health & Human Performance center located in Brownsville, TX. We focus on personal training and small group instruction and are an established gym (going on 9 years!) with a strong clientele.
Job Description: We are adding new members to our team to assist with personal training and small group classes. Specifically, we are looking for help during early morning (5-9 am) and evening hours (4-8 pm), but we are flexible with hours to accommodate your schedule. General Job Requirements & Duties:
At least 18 years of age.
Must be fluent in English. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Participate in two week paid job orientation and training to learn PÜR Fitness & Health training philosophy and methodology.
Assess clients’ fitness levels and health in order to establish specific, measurable, achievable, reasonable, and time-based goals utilizing the PÜR Fitness & Health philosophy.
Demonstrate, explain, and coach exercises to clients.
Carefully observe clients to ensure they are doing exercises properly.
Plan and program a variety of exercises that are specific to client’s needs and keep clients motivated.
Monitor each client’s personal progress.
Modify workout plans for clients as they progress.
Explain safety rules as needed.
Enforcing and reiterate safety rules when clients use equipment improperly.
Give advice on nutrition and weight control when clients seek it.
Be CPR Certified and ready and able to perform first aid in case it’s ever needed.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of gym equipment after each training session.
Act as an ambassador of the gym by greeting clients, providing information, being knowledgeable of services and price plans, and closing sales as opportunity arises.
Participate in marketing events such as health fairs, free exercise classes, etc.
Participate in ongoing professional development. Occasional overnight travel required.
Participate in team meetings as required by administration.
High-school diploma or its equivalent required.
Minimum of Associate's degree in a health or fitness field, such as physical education or exercise science preferred.
CPR/AED & First Aid certified required OR willingness to obtain certification within training period.
NASM, ACSM, or NSCA Certification required OR willingness to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
Personal Trainer experience preferred but not required.
Pay commensurate to experience. Level 1, 2, or 3.
